Deliverables

Artifacts and outputs you receive from a PAA engagement.

PAA produces tangible artifacts throughout the engagement. These deliverables transfer knowledge to your team and create lasting value beyond the engagement itself.

Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)

Every significant technical decision gets documented in a structured ADR:

  • Context — The situation and constraints
  • Decision — What was decided
  • Rationale — Why this approach was chosen
  • Consequences — Trade-offs and implications
  • Status — Proposed, accepted, deprecated, or superseded

ADRs live in your repository alongside your code. They become institutional memory that persists regardless of team changes.

Design Review Reports

For each design review, you receive:

  • Summary of the proposed design
  • Risk assessment (security, scalability, maintainability)
  • Specific recommendations with priority levels
  • Alternative approaches considered
  • Follow-up items and owners

Reports are concise—typically 2-4 pages. We optimize for clarity over comprehensiveness.

Architecture Health Assessments

Periodic assessments evaluate your platform against established criteria:

  • Reliability — Failure modes, recovery capabilities, observability
  • Scalability — Bottlenecks, growth capacity, resource efficiency
  • Security — Attack surface, access controls, data protection
  • Maintainability — Code health, technical debt, documentation
  • Operability — Deployment friction, incident response, monitoring

Each assessment includes a maturity score and prioritized improvement roadmap.

Technical Standards

We help establish and document standards appropriate for your context:

  • Coding conventions and patterns
  • API design guidelines
  • Data modeling standards
  • Security requirements
  • Operational runbooks

Standards are living documents. We help maintain them as your platform evolves.

Executive Summaries

For Strategic tier engagements, monthly executive summaries provide:

  • Key decisions made and their business impact
  • Risk posture changes
  • Progress against roadmap
  • Upcoming concerns requiring attention
  • Resource or investment recommendations

These summaries translate technical reality into business terms.
